Teens rescued from wreck

TWO 16-year-old boys were rescued from an historic wreck on the River Medina, yesterday (Sunday) evening.

The teens had used planks of wood to cross the mudbanks to the old ship, but their way back was cut off by an incoming tide.

A passerby alerted Solent Coastguard and Cowes RNLI lifeboat was launched to rescue the pair at 7.58pm.
They were met on dry land by mobile coastguards from Newport, who took them back to their homes.
