RESIDENTS who don’t receive bills or payments on time from social services have been urged to contact the Isle of Wight Council.
The authority this week admitted there were "teething troubles" with its new computer system used to administer payments and bill clients and carers for services.
"The new software social services uses will allow the council to become more cost effective and efficient, as part of its business service improvement project.
The council is already seeing the positive effects of this," said Isle of Wight Council acting director of community services Mark Howell.
"But, as with any large new computerised system, there have been some initial teething troubles. However, these are being ironed out.
"The implementation of the new system was completed successfully on time and on budget and the project team should be congratulated on this."
• People who experience difficulties have been advised to contact the council’s community services department.
