FRESH from her Olympic success, Zara Phillips will be in Cowes tomorrow (Thursday) for one of the highlights of Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week, the Artemis Challenge.

The Royal who won silver as part of the British equestrian eventing team at London 2012 will start the annual charity race around the Isle of Wight from the motor yacht Rum Jungle.

Nick Dempsey, Olympic silver medallist and team GB match racing girls, Lucy Macgregor, Annie Lush and Kate Macgregor will take to the water in a 50 mile sprint around the Island in high performance monohull IMOCA 60s and latest generation multihull MOD 70s.

TV personality Dan Snow and his wife Lady Edwina Grosvenor will also be taking part.

The winner will receive £12,000 for their chosen charity.

Zara’s grandfather, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, has been pictured in Cowes this week, following his visit to Newport earlier in the week.

Meanwhile, the Isle of Wight’s own Olympian Richard Jefferies dropped in to Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week last night (Tuesday) with friends and television presenter Tim Lovejoy was in the town today (Wednesday).

On Friday the majority of Olympic Skandia Team GBR will be in Cowes where will have the opportunity to meet them.

The group will include London 2012 silver medallists, windsurfer Nick Dempsey, the '470 Girls’ Saskia Clark and Hannah Mills, and Luke Patience and Stuart Bithell.

Other sailors attending include 2008 Olympic gold medallist, Paul Goodison, Laser Radial sailor Ali Young, 49er sailors Stevie Morrison and Ben Rhodes and match race girls, Lucy and Kate Macgregor and Annie Lush.

The team will be on Cowes Parade at 2pm, the Volvo stand in Cowes Yacht Haven at 3pm and the Toe in the Water Heroes and Legends reception at Shepards Wharf from 5pm.

*The Duke of Edinburgh is believed to have left the Island yesterday. He has since been admitted to hospital in Aberdeen.
