Youngsters from Ladywell Gymnastics Club did outstandingly well at the Regional Division Twin Piece Championships at Heathrow.

Out of 50 teams entered for the competition from across London, the club had its three pairs in the top six, finishing overall first, fourth and sixth.

Youngsters aged eight to 15 entered in teams of two and they had to perform two of the four disciplines vault, floor, beam and bars between them.

First came Elizabeth Thomas, 11, from Brockley, doing the floor exercise and beam, while Catford's Cristal Ewers, who is 10, performed beam and vault.

In fourth position was Samantha McRoberts, 10, from Penge, on beam and floor, and New Cross's Paige Augar, who is nine, performing vault and bars.

And in sixth place was Bryony Gill, eight, on the vault and beam along with Laura Henry, also eight, from Catford who did the floor and bars.

A club spokesman said: "All the coaches of the club are extremely proud of the result as they are proud of all the gymnasts at the club."
