A SAFE has been stolen from a business after it was targeted by thieves.

Topline Windows, in Lake Industrial Way, was broken into overnight on Monday and early Tuesday morning.

Owner Paul Leggett said: "They smashed the front door and two pieces of glass with a brick.

"It seems they knew what they wanted and went straight for the safe.

"The cabinet the safe was in was destroyed and there was other damage. We don’t hold a lot of cash in the safe. It’s the inconvenience of the damage, more than anything."

Mr Leggett said police officers dusted the premises for fingerprints: "I don’t know if we will get the safe back but I urge people to keep an eye out."

Anyone with information can contact the police on 101.
