Third win is ‘best shock of my life’

A GRANDMOTHER from Newport has scooped the biggest prize in the history of the Isle of Wight Lottery.

Mary Wakefield described it as the biggest and best shock of her life when she discovered she had won £10,000 on the lottery, run by the Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce, Tourism and Industry.

Lucky Mary has previously won two prizes in the lottery of £2,000 each in the last ten years.

Mary, of Newport, said: "I had just got back from holiday and I was trying very hard not to spend too much.

"Then I found out I had won this prize.

"I’ve never seen that amount of money before and I don’t know what I’ll do with it but it will make a difference to my life in my old age."

Mary, who has two sons and five grandchildren, said she was planning a family celebration.

She was presented with a cheque by Steve Porter, chamber president.

Another £10,000 winner is due to be drawn in January 2013. Every week there is a £2,000 prize and every month there is a £4,000 prize.

Fair enough Mr / Ms Newfield - but how long is 'eventually'? I assume you are not posting from your yacht in Monte Carlo, but I could be wrong.

I hope I can win a big lottery jackpot like that someday. I've been spending a lot of time studying patterns and mathematical probabilities, and I think it's entirely possible. I won $10,000 once using a system I found online (here's a review if you're interested: http://gamblingsystemreviews.net/lottery-method/ ) If you keep playing smart and not just picking completely random numbers, you'll win eventually.
