Morden Little League 1 - Wimbledon Little League 3 (aet)

In this eventful and gripping Little League Football National tournament semi-final between two excellent sides, two goals in extra-time eventually took Wimbledon through.

However, the first half saw Morden carving the better openings. They whipped an early effort against the underside of the bar.

Wimbledon, though, came forward to take the lead. During a goalmouth skirmish, Neil Fraser swept home a minute before the interval.

Morden came back to equalise with a Darrell Wyatt penalty 10 minutes after half-time. Extra-time arrived with the teams deadlocked at 1-1. An unstoppable first-time drive into the right corner from Paul Newman turned the tie in Wimbledon's direction. Shortly after, a free-kick found Nick Lawrence out on the right, whose strike confirmed their place in the final.

In the West Midlands, Ladywood created a shockwave through the Little League kingdom by beating Hands-worth, who have a record of seven cup final appearances in a row, 3-0.

Cavaliers 3, Missiles 1

Cavaliers came back from a goal down to take the Kingston Little League Senior Cup.

James Seeker glided the perfect angled shot into the opposite corner for the opener.

Sam William seized on to a rebound to shoot Cavaliers level. Early in the second half Missiles, driven on by Daniel Clark, tried to regain their advantage, seeing one effort go wide.

An inspired Cavaliers team move from out of defence and down the right led to Williams pulling the ball back for Carl Thomas to sweep Ambers ahead.

Suddenly, Cavaliers were back to their best. Two minutes later they gained their third as Joe Wood gratefully steered home a rare goal as Ambers collected the cup in their 12th appearance in 23 years.

Cavaliers' Kyle Brown was ruled out by an earlier injury, but was there to watch his team's success and collected his award during presentations, made by Michael Wittacker of Crystal Palace FC.

Lions Ice Cup Cake

Lions 1, Oranges 0

Lions narrowly edged home in this skilful, sporting KLL Intermediate Cup Final. In a close and exciting game, Oranges nearly broke through in the opening minutes, seeing a chance cleared.

With both sides producing good teamwork, Dark Blues made a probing break down the left and Aaron King's firm shot into the roof of the net put Lions in front.

Oranges' keeper Nathan McGuinness made a good stop before half time, but in the second half his opposite number, Fraser Gregory, had to save Jamie Webster's cleanly-struck free-kick from the left to prevent an equaliser.

With play continuing to be reasonably even, Dark Blues saw another effort saved, while Oranges went close again to levelling, hitting a post. Tommy Turner was in irrepressible form for Lions, and his cross nearly led to another goal, as Oranges' 'keeper saved Paul Vanderveken's volley.

Someone had baked a cake for the occasion, saying "Well done Lions", but Oranges certainly deserved a big slice of the praise too!
