AN ISLE of Wight library has been chosen as a venue to show a touring art display about the Titanic.
Cowes Library will host an exhibition entitled Funnels and Butterflies, starting tomorrow (Friday) and running to Tuesday, November 19.
The display, created by artist Bonny Cummins, features her original paintings and prints of the doomed liner as well as specially commissioned music to accompany it.
Also on display in the children’s library will be vibrant butterfly art and memory gardens created by Bonny and the pupils of Medina House School.
Bonny will also host a free art workshop on the theme of animation and stained glass for children aged over eight years, at the library, between 2pm and 4pm on Monday, October 28.
On Tuesday, October 29, she will give visitors a tour of the exhibition and, later, a free talk about the installation, with the screening of a film featuring her friend, Millvina Dean, the last survivor of the Titanic.
During the talk, between 7pm and 9pm, she will share Titanic collectibles with the audience.
Bonny’s art workshop will also be held at Ryde Library on Wednesday, October 30, between 10am and noon.
Booking for both workshops is essential. To book the workshop at Cowes Library, call 293341, and at Ryde Library, 562170.
