Titanic pictured off Cowes

The picture sold at the Henry Aldridge & Son auction.

THIS image of the Titanic, taken from Cowes Parade days before she sank, has been sold, with another, for £120, at a recent auction by Henry Aldridge and Son, of Wiltshire.

The Beken of Cowes photograph was taken on April 10, 1912, as the Titanic steamed to Southampton, past the Isle of Wight, for the start of her fateful voyage.

Among the other lots sold at the auction was a menu for the last meal served to first class passengers on the ship, which fetched £76,000.
