MEMBERS of West Watford Christian Fellowship enjoyed a car treasure hunt on Saturday and raised cash for pastors and orphans in Belarus on Saturday.

The Mission church supports two churches, one in Kalickavinshi, the other in Mosyr, and three orphanages near to Chernobyl, where people are still suffering the affects of radiation.

Eight members are taking money, medicines and children's bible stories over there this May.

Participants in the treasure hunt had to collect as many points from random clues, taking them as far as Bedmond, Abotts Langley, Chorleywood and Flaunden.

Bonus items collected included red roses and cuddly toys.

The winners were Vivien, Sandy and Matthew Taylor from Croxley Green and Julie Evans from Garston.

They braved the horizontal sleet to make a huge 885 points. A prize of gift vouchers was kindly donated by John Lewis, Watford, where the event organiser, Susie Pope, works.

Everyone enjoyed tea and homemade cakes afterwards, and the event raised £160 towards the fund.
