Fossil hunting on Brook Beach has been listed by Visit England as one of the best simple pleasures. Picture by Jennifer Burton.
SEARCHING for fossils on an Isle of Wight beach has been listed as one of the UK’s best simple pleasures in a new list compiled by Visit England.
The national tourist organisation placed fossil hunting on Brook Beach as number 15 on the list of 25 activities chosen by parents.
The list has been accompanied by a special Winnie-The-Pooh story, in which Pooh and Christopher Robin set off to visit the top ten.
Number one on the list was enjoying a fish supper on Blackpool Pier, while other activities included watching puffins on the Farne Islands and trying to make the Queen’s Guard laugh at Buckingham Palace.
