CRYSTAL Palace are fourth in the Carling league!

Despite their struggle in the Premiership, the Eagles are doing okay in the Carling Charity Challenge - a league table of London derby games.

At the beginning of the season, the six London teams in the Premiership each nominated a charity. The triumphant team at the end of the season will receive £10,000, courtesy of Carling, towards their charity, with the runners-up each winning £1,000.

Palace have fared better than both Wimbledon and Tottenham, having won two, drawn one and lost four of their league derby games this season.

Whatever happens, the Eagles' chosen charities - Marie Curie Cancer Care and Motor Neurone Disease - are assured of £500 each at the end of the season.

Palace have a chance to close the gap on their London rivals when they take on Chelsea tonight. Charity Challenge leaders Arsenal also take on third-placed West Ham in another London derby.
