A RADIO legend is coming to Woolwich to help raise money for a local theatre group.

Barry Cryer has written sketches for practically every major comedian of the past 30 years as well as being a stalwart of Radio 4's I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue.

The funnyman is attending an evening of song and laughter at Woolwich Public Hall in aid of Greenwich and Lewisham Young People's Theatre (GYPT).

This is the second time the event has been held and Cryer will be joined this time round by his pal from the radio show, Colin Sell.

King of the one-liners, Cryer is looking forward to the event.

He said: "Hopefully we can raise lots of money for the GYPT."

- The Music Hall with Barry Cryer and friends takes place on Sunday, March 3. Tickets cost £12 a person round tables of 10, £7 in the gallery or £5 in the gallery with a restricted view. To book your tickets and help the GYPT, call 020 8317 8687.
