Treasure time at town carnival

A TREASURE hunt, children's fun day and a procession through the town will feature during Sandown Carnival.

The event starts today (Thursday) with a family treasure hunt, starting at the Isle of Wight Zoo, will be held at 6.30pm and prizes and trophies will be awarded at the Caulkheads pub after the event.

A children's fun day and carnival will be held tomorrow (Friday), from 10.30am at Eastern Gardens.

The entertainment on offer will include the annual sandcastle competition, before the children's carnival, which starts at around 2.45pm.

Judging will take at Sandham Grounds at 2pm, with prizes awarded at Eastern Gardens after the parade.

On Saturday, a family fun day will be held from 10am at Eastern Gardens, followed by the main carnival at around 7pm.

Judging will take place on Culver Parade at 6pm.

A quiz night will be held on Sunday (29) at The Castle Inn, starting at 8pm.
