YOUNGSTERS hit new heights in a vertical marathon on Sunday.
Goodleaf Tree Climbing invited scouts, brownies, cubs and guides to take part in the special session at Appley Park, Ryde.
About 35 children took part in the vertical marathon, earning sticker medals in recognition for the heights they reached.
The group also donated money towards the Isle of Wight Special Olympics Team.
Goodleaf will be holding more sessions during the year and inviting all their climbers to get involved in the vertical marathon challenge, in the hope that when added together they will have notched up the equivalent height of a marathon.
Abi Fox, owner of Goodleaf, said: "It went really well, it was a really fun day. The group managed to climb 55m in total."
She thanked the Isle of Wight Council for its support in allowing the group to use Appley Park.
Future sessions will be held on July 29, August 12 and September 2.
