A NEWPORT couple’s use of fertility treatment to have a baby will be featured on the BBC’s How Sex Works programme on Monday night.

The programme, to be screened on BBC3 at 9pm, follows the journey of Kevin and Alison Gray, of Cavendish Place, who had fertility treatment in a bid to have a baby.

Alison, 26, was diagnosed with premature menopause a few years ago, which meant she had no eggs to conceive a child.

After a battle to get funding, the couple received about £7,000 from the NHS to have treatment.

Alison’s cousin, Lisa Bell, of Hemel Hempstead, offered to be a donor and the programme tracked their progress, including their appointments with consultants, scans and the outcome of the treatment.
