FIREFIGHTERS with cutting equipment were called to a report of two people trapped in a crashed car at Calbourne.
Emergency services were called at 9.01 this morning (Friday) to the road close to Calbourne Water Mill.
It was initially believed two people were trapped, however firefighters found only one person needed to be freed when they arrived on scene.
An Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "One car was involved. A woman was freed using cutting gear and taken by ambulance to St Mary's Hospital."
Diversions were put in place by police while the incident was dealt with.
*A police spokesman said the car had overturned, however the woman's injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
