A PROJECT to benefit young people living in childrens homes and foster care, has been launched.

Connect is being piloted with groups from Hertfordshire and Humberside to build the self-confidence and social skills that young people in a family environment are able to acquire.

Fifteen young people, aged 14 to 16, from Herts and Grimbsy took part in a week-long course for young people growing up in the care system, in which people leaving care gave advice to the youngsters.

Through their direct experience of being looked after children, six leaders provided an insight into the issues facing young people.

The Connect project is being run in partnership between the Princes Trust, Action and the Who Cares? Trust.
