Crisis club Carshalton Athletic were dumped into a relegation battle in the Ryman League after a defeat which left them without a win in the last eight games.
After 16 minutes, a mix-up allowed Curtis Johnson to put Walton in front. Just nine minutes later the Robins drew level through a spectacular swerving strike by Richard Newbury.
But after 88 minutes disaster struck for the Robins when Tim Alexander pulled a Walton forward down and Matthew Pearson made no mistake from the penalty spot.
The Robins are at Harrow on Saturday and at home to fellow strugglers St Albans on Tuesday.
