FIREFIGHTERS battling the government over its pension proposals will stage another strike, starting next Saturday, August 9.

The strike will run until the following Saturday, August 16, between noon and 2pm, and 10.59pm and 11.59pm each day.

Fire Brigades Union national officer Sean Starbuck said: "It’s extremely disappointing we have had to issue more strike dates but the government are simply not listening to our concerns."

The Isle of Wight Council will be responsible for maintaining cover during the strike.
