The Gunners had to wait until the second half of this clash on Sunday to clinch victory through two impressive Marieanne Spacey strikes.

From the start guests Everton put Arsenal under the cosh, and the Gunners didn't help their cause by giving the ball away. The Mersey maids' pressure paid off when they assumed the lead.

However, the Gunners came out with all guns blazing after the break, to win every ball and tackle.

As Everton wilted under a resurgent Arsenal the spotlight fell upon Marieanne Spacey, so instrumental in the lady Gunners' FA Cup fourth round win over Leeds, who scored with a fine 58th minute goal.

She also delivered the Gunners' second and winning goal with a 75th minute shot, which Everton's keeper was powerless to stop.
