VAA awards recognise the best of the Isle of Wight

Tuesday, March 22, 2016 - 11:27

THE man credited with making Chale’s Wight Mouse Inn a top family pub was marked with a special accolade at last night’s (Monday) annual Isle of Wight Visitor Attraction Association (VAA) Awards.
The event, which celebrated outstanding service provided by Island attractions in 2015, was held at the Marconi bar and café, The Needles Landmark Attraction, on Monday (21).
Hosted by Isle of Wight VAA chairman, Martin Simpson, the dinner featured the presentation of nine awards, which ranged from the friendliest venue to favourite tourist attraction, following a survey of thousands of people at various Island localities last summer.
Among the guests was Isle of Wight Festival promoter John Giddings, who received the award for the Island’s best activity or event.
• For a full report and pictures from the night, please see the Isle of Wight County Press on Thursday, March 24.
