NEW group managers have been appointed to run Bromley's fostering and adoption teams in the hope of increasing carer and adoption numbers in the borough.

Chris Stanell is becoming the adoption group manager and Gill Barnard will be the fostering team manager.

Between them, they have a wealth of experience in family placement work and both are committed to providing a good service to the families they serve.

The Bromley fostering team has begun a concerted drive to find new foster carers for children aged between 11 and 16.

Ms Barnard said: “There is a real need to find foster carers for older children in the borough.

“Young people, who for many different reasons are unable to live with their own families, are entitled to have the kind of family life so many of us can automatically take for granted.”

There are 77 foster families in Bromley but 306 children are looking to be fostered.
