A SURVEY of what residents think of the Isle of Wight Festival is to be carried out by Newport Parish Council.
It will be the second time parish councillors have sought the views of households living close to the Seaclose festival site.
A mailshot of around 1,500 questionnaires will be sent out to residents in Newport North and Central wards by October 1.
Meanwhile, parish councillors want to be involved in this year’s post-event 'wash-up’ discussions, particularly after the traffic chaos at the start of the event and the event safety and operational plan (ESOP) not being made public.
Speaking at a parish council meeting on Monday, Cllr Geoff Lumley said: "One of the Isle of Wight Council’s scrutiny panels is going to be taking a review in October and I wonder if there is any way the parish council can have an input into that or, at least, attend the meeting and make some representations.
"I find it amazing a document (ESOP) the whole licence is worked around is unavailable in a democracy."
"There are some things that have come out that I find quite staggering, such as the issue of the ESOP.
