BUSINESS MASSAGES, health and fitness classes, and golfing trips are some of the deals being offered by a new website for daily deals on the Isle of Wight.

Island Voucher, launched by a small team of Islanders, aims to connect small businesses with consumers.

Emma-Jane Dyer, the sales and marketing director, said: "We are excited to launch Island Voucher, our daily deal portal built on the Island for the Island.

"With the large number residents and tourists, we hope to offer something truly different for both businesses and consumers."

She added: "The Island has some brilliant local establishments and businesses, some we all know about and some hidden gems. We hope to offer both over time."

The website is updated daily and users can subscribe to receive e-mails, with exclusive offers on days out, meals, leisure activities and health and beauty treatments from Island companies.

Managing director, Katrina White, has a number of years of administrative and business experience,

She said: "Island Voucher gives both locals and our many visitors the chance to connect with our many vibrant businesses."

LOL!! When somewhere like Dan's Kitchen has an offer. You need to be quick off the mark.

Mike. I get one email a day from them, Which I appreciate as it means I can immediately buy, if it's an offer that usually sells out quickly. eg some of the restaurant deals

Hi T Rollingsworth, Thank you for comments, we have taken them on board :-) Its worth remembering we have only been live for a few weeks, so have great plans in motion to be different, and our approach is very much to make sure the business featured or any business we work with benefits :-)

The "priceiswight" has offered MOTs and frequently has dinner deals.- there is one for The Hermitage today. We have eaten at Dans Kitchen, Ventnor Botanical Gardens &, The Pond Cafe to name a few. You should sign up for their daily email.

This could be interesting providing that they are deals that are worth while.
I have only browsed the "priceiswight" site a couple of times and this site seems no different. They just offer services you don't really need like Spa treatments and photoshoots which are generally discounted from an inflated RRP.

I'd sooner save money on things that matter like my MOT, a meal out and services that the public need. (Bad example, but Window cleaning)

Also requesting e-mails on every page is a big no-no for user experience. I'd even go as far as having a "how often" dropdown for e-mails. I frequently unsubscribe from websites that send me more than one e-mail a week.

also, as a more technical note, in your code you need to change your semi-colon to a comma in your "viewport" meta-tag. Could throw up errors with some browsers.

Hi Mike, Thanks for your comments, I can tell you now we will not be bombarding you with emails :-) All Isle of Wight specific. We currently send a few a week, we are looking at the pop up so that it stays closed once clicked off for a short period to allow users to look around, feedback is very important to us so we are working on making it as best of experience as possible.

Brett are you always going to have that pop up email request on EVERY change of section? I don't want to register until I see something which interests me and I certainly don't want to be bombarded with emails with special offers in Spas or Beauty treatments thank you very much
