A WALKER called emergency services after spotting a container on an Isle of Wight beach this morning (Thursday).
Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue service said it was called to Shanklin Esplanade at 10.41am after concerns were raised the blue drum could contain toxic material.
At 12.15pm a spokesman said the container was being assessed.
*Shortly after 1pm the fire and rescue service confirmed the drum had only contained sea water.
