THE Met Office has issued a fresh weather warning for heavy rain for tonight and tomorrow (Tuesday).
The yellow 'be aware' warning followed an earlier amber warning for heavy rain and came as the Isle of Wight Council issued flooding advice.
According to the Met Office, further heavy rain was expected across the south east and surface and river flooding was possible.
The Environment Agency has warned homeowners in areas prone to flooding to take precautions.
The Isle of Wight Council said sandbags were available from:
East Cowes – junction of Well Road/Castle Street
Ryde – junction of Westhill Road/Strand
Yarmouth – River Road
Cowes – St Mary’s Car Park
The council said it was working with partner organisations and was on standby in case river levels rose significantly.
