A FURTHER weather warning for heavy rain has been issued for the Isle of Wight for tomorrow (Wednesday).

A Met Office yellow 'be aware' warning is already in place today (Tuesday) and a 'be aware' warning is now in force for the whole of tomorrow (Wednesday).

The Met Office chief forecaster said: "The depression currently affecting the UK is expected to be centred near or over southwestern UK by midday Wednesday, bringing further showers and rain to many regions.

"There is a risk of further large rainfall totals accumulating across some areas, in particular over parts of Wales and southern England.

"Here there is the potential for local accumulations of around 50mm. After the recent wet weather, this further heavy rain could cause localised surface-water flooding."
