Weller brings entertainment to festival

Paul Weller will be playing at this year's Isle of Wight Festival.

MODFATHER Paul Weller is the latest act to be added to the Isle of Wight Festival bill.

Best known for fronting The Jam and The Style Council, his hits include Going Underground, Town Called Malice and That's Entertainment, he will join the main stage line up on Friday night, playing as a special guest ahead of headliners The Stone Roses.

A legendary guitarist and songwriter with an acclaimed solo career, Weller said: "It’s been a while since I've played the Isle of Wight Festival and I’m excited to be playing it this year. It’s a great way to kick off the summer."

Promoter Jon Giddings said: "If you like music, you like Paul Weller. He is one of the greatest singer songwriters this country has produced and we are proud to bring him to our small island — we have plenty of pebbles on a beach for him!!"

Other acts announced today (Monday) by festival bosses include US pop star Ke$ha, Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel, Kodaline, Devlin, Little Angels, Lawson, Ian Hunter and Gypsy Queens.

They join headliners The Stone Roses, Bon Jovi and The Killers.

The Isle of Wight Festival 2013 will be held at Seaclose Park from June 13 to 16.
