The hosts batted first and, thanks to 42 from Rob Harris and Tony Cooper's 40, made 170. Di Lock was the pick of the Bexleyheath bowlers, taking 3-48 but, crucially, the Wilsonians' ninth-wicket pair of skipper Doug Forbes and Colin Lake put on what proved to be 37 vital and match-saving runs.
When Bexleyheath batted they lost a wicket with just three on the board, but superb batting from Chris Shears left them to score just 37 with seven wickets in hand off 10 overs.
But Forbes, Wilsonians' captain "marvel", then took four cheap wickets and Bexleyheath started the last over needing eight to win with three wickets left. But Shears was then run out for splendid 84 going and Bexleyheath eventually ended two short with their last pair at the crease.
