What's on this weekend?

Pianist Varvara Maggs will perform in aid of Love Russia at Newport Minster on Sunday.

YOU won't find yourself short of options for things to do this weekend.

Quay Arts welcomes its latest Rope Store Gallery exhibition, featuring Mandy Bangerter, Gerry Price, Penelope Walford and Sally Woodford.

With the theme Coast Art, the Island artists have used a range of media including textiles, sculpture, painting and ceramics.
For a great day out in aid of a good cause tomorrow (Sunday) why not head to Hulverstone for the 'Big Blow Event Fundraising Fun Day' at the Sun Inn?

The day will feature live music, and proceeds will be donated to the Earl Mountbatten Hospice, in memory of Mike Blow.
The event starts at 10am, and organisers encourage donations for raffle prizes or the auction.

Newport Minster will host a summer concert for the Love Russia charity tomorrow evening. Love Russia raises money for orphans, homeless people and rehabilitating addicts in Russia, and is celebrating its 21st birthday.

The concert will feature pieces by Beethoven and Chopin, played by visiting classical Russian pianist Varvara Maggs, and starts at 7pm.

Refreshments and canapés will be served during the interval. Tickets are £5 in advance or £6 on the door. For tickets visit www.loverussia.org or phone 0115 983 1100.

For something a bit more quirky, why not try "Music, Film, Moon and Moths" at Brown's Golf Course in Sandown tomorrow evening?

The night starts at 7pm and will feature live music from Little Lemon and folk rockers Laika IOW, screenings of short films, as well as demonstrations of bat detecting and bug catching from Island artist collective Ecclestone George.

The café will be open serving food & beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic).

Presumably SPT, you will be touring Europe on foot or by bicycle? instead of polluting the atmosphere with exhaust fumes (don't tell me.... you are not driving but going as a passenger, therefore contributing to the pollution)

Get a life Mr. Taylor. In the real world sensible people try to balance home & family life all the other pleasures like going out occasionally for a change to enjoy other things. This is what real people do.

What about staying at home and doing jobs or family stuff instead of polluting the atmosphere with car fumes. Killjoy or what
