Free: learn to play golf

Leatherhead's Pachesham Park Golf Centre is running free learn to play golf sessions over the Easter holidays.

Running from Saturday until Sunday, April 18-19, the club in Oaklawn Road is taking part in the second National Golf Week to encourage more people, especially women and juniors, to take up the game.

Sutton and District's Cribbage League urgently needs a new team to sign up for this season's competition.

One of the league's teams dropped out over the weekend and organisers are hoping a new club will fill the slot in the league which started on Tuesday. Call Albert: 0181 669 4571.

Fun play-ins

Epsom's Ebbisham Sports Club is running a series of fun days and play-ins until May to attract new members.

Co-op mourns

Undertakers Trueloves and Co-op Funeral Services swapped tail-coats for soccer kits in a charity football match in aid of Sutton Bereavement Service last weekend.

Trueloves blasted three goals past Co-op after a nail-biting first half, with the event raising £200 for grief counselling and the Children in Need appeal.

Cheer them on

Carshalton Cheerleaders are sending two squads to the World Cheerleading and Dance Championships over the Easter weekend.

The club's Ikon Palace Crystals and Pom Crazy teams are taking on hundreds of other cheerleaders at the event in Bracknell, Berkshire.

Allsorts races

The Epsom Allsorts are hoping for a huge field at Horton Country Park on Sunday, May 10 for the club's annual 5 km and 10 km races.

The Allsorts are celebrating their 11th anniversary this year and the ladies' only event's organisers are urging runners of all abilities to join in the fun. For entry simply turn up on the day at 10.30am or write to the club at 13 Lindsay Close, Chessington, Surrey, KT9 2D9.
