ALL that is great about the Isle of Wight will be showcased at Westminster later this year.
Following the roaring success of last year’s event, when the delegation included one of Blackgang Chine’s dinosaurs, Isle of Wight MP Andrew Turner is hosting a second Wight in Westminster Day, on September 2, at the Houses of Parliament.
The day, organised by Taste of the Wight in partnership with Visit Isle of Wight, will focus on Island food and drink and key visitor themes such as Garden Isle and Bicycle Island.
Island businesses will also play a key part with a marine/technology showcase set up by Geoff Underwood, managing direction of Inflight Peripherals Ltd.
Mr Turner said: "The feedback from last year's event was really good. Many Island businesses benefited from the day which really raised the profile of the Island and so many things that are great here."
Visit Isle of Wight chief executive David Thornton said the event, when the Island would be promoted to London journalists, MPs and potential partners, was a "powerful ingredient" to their annual communications plan.
Mr Underwood added: "We want people to know the Isle of Wight is the perfect place to develop and grow a business."
