Wightlink changes after consultation

WIGHTLINK has revised its Yarmouth to Lymington timetable to improve train connections for Isle of Wight travellers.

The change is the result of a 'meet the managers' consultation at Yarmouth last month, the company said.

At the meeting, Isle of Wight customers suggested that revising the times of two Saturday morning sailings from the Island would be helpful for residents wishing to catch trains from Lymington Pier.

As a result, the 0750 and 0850 Saturday sailings will now each leave five minutes earlier, at 0745 and 0845. The new timetable will come into effect from Saturday.

Sean Millward, head of port operations, said: "We were approached by several customers during our last meet the managers consultation event who suggested that by making just a small change to our timetable, we could make a big impact on their onward travel and we were happy to oblige.

"Direct feedback from our customers is a really important part of constantly improving our services."
