THOSE lucky enough to win tickets to Nokia’s winter wonderland party will be told on Wednesday.
The phone giant said winners would receive personal phone calls confirming they had won, on the mobile numbers they supplied when they voted.
The Nokia Christmas party, on the afternoon of December 16, at Seaclose Park, will feature Santa, reindeer, elves, star chef Marco Pierre White’s Christmas food and drink and eight tonnes of real snow, in a Finnish market setting.
After originally being excluded from the competition, because the IW was branded an offshore island, votes snowballed, as a result of a campaign by the County Press and Isle of Wight Radio.
In just a few days, more than 2,500 people voted for the Island, meaning the Isle of Wight overtook Worthing to scoop the prize.
Nokia emphasised the event was ticket only and limited to a few hundred of the 2,500 who voted.
