THE manager of the Dartford Harvester restaurant has won an award for making it one of the best in the south east, despite only having worked there a year.
Peter Elder was presented with the Best Newcomer Manager award at the annual conference of Harvester employees.
Mr Elder manages the Rising Sun Harvester, on Dartford Road, and won his award for surpassing quality standards and producing outstanding takings throughout the year. He said: "The success of the restaurant has been down to the hard work and determination of the team.
"The team members all work very well together to achieve excellent results."
The staff at the Rising Sun were subjected to various tests by mystery customers so bosses could assess how well managed the restaurant was.
