THE Isle of Wight was hit by strong winds and high tides yesterday (Wednesday) and County Press readers captured the drama on camera.

I stood next to Mark Cooper I think around the time he took that.
The seat was lost around 1 hour before the high tide at Freshwater Bay, at 13:14. The wave that knocked over the seat also "pressure washed" some surfacing off the pedestrian area of the sea wall, meaning that at high tide it seemed to be over the worst of the sea by one hour.....We were lucky. Had high tide been a few hours earlier OMG
