THE cable connecting the huge Navitus Bay Wind Park to the National Grid will not affect the Isle of Wight, it has been confirmed.
The company masterminding the £2 billion plus park to the south-west of the Island said the 22 mile cable route, worked-out after a year-long consultation exercise over effects on the environment, will run from the landfall point at Raddiford Gap between Barton-on-Sea and Milford-on-Sea.
The park is predicted to supply enough electricity for 820,000 homes but has proved deeply unpopular with yachtsmen.
