Woman suffers serious injuries

POLICE on the Isle of Wight have said they are keeping an open mind after a woman was found with serious injuries at her home in Cowes yesterday (Tuesday).

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman said: "We were called to an address in Fraser Close, Cowes, Isle of Wight at 5.46pm.

"A woman, who lives at the address, was found with serious injuries.

"She was taken to hospital for treatment.

"The address is being examined by officers for potential evidence to establish how the woman was injured.

"We're keeping an open mind about the cause of the woman's injuries at this early stage of enquiries.

"There is no information to suggest a wider risk to the community."

Police appealed for anyone with information to contact Newport Police Station by phoning 101.
