FIREFIGHTERS were called to the Star Inn, Wroxall this afternoon (Thursday) following a leak of carbon-dioxide gas.

The leak came from a line used by the pub for putting carbon gas in soft drinks.

Four children and two adults, a man and a woman, were evacuated from the premises.

The woman was treated with oxygen by firefighters and later attended to by an ambulance but was not taken to hospital.

Firefighters from Ryde, Shanklin and Newport attended the incident which took place at around 3pm.
