Barry Boreham is stepping down after ten years as secretary of Edgware Town. But he's adamant that, despite rumours to the contrary, all is well with the Ryman League Division Two club.

'Work commitments have brought about my decision to quit, and I want to spend more time with my two grandchildren.' said Barry.

Edgware's future in the league looked in peril recently after it was discovered that their lease did not meet with the League's requirements. They were given until August to put that right.

They'll be losing part of the White Lion ground, swallowed up by a new motel on the site of the former public house.

'The club is still negotiating with landlords Scottish and Newcastle Breweries and are hoping for a new five-year lease,' said Mr Boreham. He added: 'We're still very much alive and kicking!'
