A FOOTBRIDGE at Shanklin is to be closed for five days for maintenance and repairs.
The project, at Alresford Footbridge, in Alresford Road, will begin on Monday and is due to be finished next Saturday, February 18. Some overnight work will be needed during the repairs and a pedestrian diversion will be in place.
• A metal footbridge on the footpath at Island Harbour is being closed permanently. A diversion will be put in place.

This is all tied in with the ENFORCED building of 10,400 new houses and 27 Gypsy pitches and the ENFORCED building of a School on the last piece of green land in Shanklin of which residents are fighting, and ask all residents of Shanklin to fight this, yet again we are not being asked, the Island residents should Demand a referendum on whether they wish this huge building scheme to be continued
