REMEDIAL works at Newport Bus Station will cause slight disruption to passengers over the next four weeks.

From 8am tomorrow (Wednesday) work will begin on damaged tarmac and there will be changes to the bus stands that some services arrive and depart from.

All Route 1 buses will operate from stand C, usually the stand for routes 5, 7 and 38.

All Route 9 buses will operate from Stand E, normally the stand for route 1.

All route 5, 7 and 38 buses will continue to operate from Stand A, the usual stand for services 2, 3, 6 and 8 stand, at the back of of Next.

All route 2, 3, 6 and 8 buses will run from a temporary bus stop in Church Litten opposite Morrisons supermarket car park.

The company said on its Facebook page: "While the actual work may only take a couple of days the new tarmac requires several days to harden before heavy vehicles are driven across it.

"We apologise for any inconvenience while these essential works are carried out."
