Wood will need to rapidly put their FA Trophy disappointment behind them as their packed fixture list begeins to close in on all sides, with six matches to be played in thirteen days, starting this Saturday with a trip to bottom of the table Oxford City, kick off 3pm.

Last season's trip to Court Place Farm ended goalless on a sodden surface, but Wood will be desperate for maximum points this time as they try to close the gap on Sutton and Kingstonian at the top of the Ryman League Premier Division.

Bob Makin was not moaning about the glut of games, conceding that it was the price that Wood have had to pay for a successful campaign. "It's about character now" he said.

Kevin Brock, the former Oxford Utd., Newcastle and QPR player was recently appointed as City player/manager and his charges led at table-toppers Sutton last Saturday before going down 1-2.

This will be the first of two visits to the dreaming spires this week, as Wood meet City again a week tonight (Thursday March 5 ) in the Semi-Final First Leg of the Guardian Insurance League Cup, kick off 7.30.

Before then, Wood have a home Ryman League fixture next Tuesday evening, when they meet Dulwich Hamlet for the first time this season, kick off 7.45.

Wood's opponents in the Herts Senior Cup Final will be decided on Monday, 9th March, when Barnet meet Watford. Once the outcome is known, the date and venue for the final will be announced.
