World record judges head to Bestival

An artist's impression of Bestival disco ball, which organisers of the Isle of Wight event hope will break the world record.

BESTIVAL organisers have confirmed Guinness World Record judges will be on the Isle of Wight this weekend to see if the event has pulled off one of its biggest ever stunts.

As reported earlier this year, Bestival curator Rob da Bank accepted a challenge laid down by disco legend Nile Rodgers to create the world's biggest disco ball — over 10 metres.

The ball will make an appearance at this weekend's Bestival and Guinness judges will be on hand to confirm whether they have succeeded.
