TAILOR-MADE yacht covers have been stolen from a Yarmouth boatyard.

Police appealed for witnesses to the thefts from a yard off Bridge Road in Yarmouth, which occurred between 6pm on Sunday, January 22 and 9.30am the following day.

Investigating officer PC Jeff Rogers, of the West Wight Safer Neighbourhoods Team, said: "We believe this theft would have taken a long time because the covers are very large and heavy.

"This took place next to the main road between Yarmouth and Freshwater, so if you were driving past and saw anyone or any vehicles in the boatyard between the times in question then please contact police."

Witnesses, or anyone with information, are asked to contact PC Rogers at Yarmouth Police Station by phoning 101 or emailing westwight.snt@hampshire.pnn.police.uk Information can be given anonymously by phoning the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
