CHILDHOOD games playing with toy tanks, diggers and fire engines could become a reality at a charity driving challenge in Cowes.

The Fire Fighters Charity and the Earl Mountbatten Hospice are inviting everyone over 17, with a full driving licence, to test their motoring skills in a variety of vehicles, including a bus, fire engine, digger and a tank.

All drivers have to do is secure their place with a £10 deposit and raise a minimum of £90 for the two charities.

The challenge takes place on Saturday, October 6, at BAE Systems, Newport Road, Cowes, and the Military History Museum, Newport Road, Cowes, with a choice of two driving sessions — 9.30am to 1pm, and 2.30pm to 6pm.

For more information, visit www.firefighterscharity.org.uk or call Louise Watson at the Earl Mountbatten Hospice on 01983 528989.
