A FORMER chairman of Niton football and cricket clubs, Albert (Bert) Henry Sealey, has died, aged 94.
Born in Niton, Mr Sealey was raised by his grandparents, Solomon and Caroline Best, after his mother, Alice, died in 1916, followed a year later by the death of his father, Walter.

During the Second World War he helped to build planes for various companies, including Saunders-Roe, before he was called up to serve in the Royal Air Force.
In his working life, Mr Sealey spent 21 years as a carpenter and joiner with builder O. A. Morris, followed by 15 years with Henry Ingram & Sons, where he also worked as an undertaker.
He married his late wife, Nora, in 1939, and the couple celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary in 1999.
He was an active member of the community in Niton and represented Niton Football Club as a player, secretary and chairman.
Mr Sealey was also a chairman of Niton Cricket Club and Niton village hall committee.
He leaves his daughters, Patricia and Pauline, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mr Sealey’s funeral was held on June 11, with services at Niton Parish Church and the IW Crematorium.
