DENSE localised freezing fog patches lingering in parts of the Isle of Wight and across the Solent is causing some travel disruption this morning (Tuesday).
The Met Office has a yellow weather warning for fog in place, until 11am. The fog is expected to slowly thin and lift, although it may persist in some areas throughout the day.
Wightlink ferries running between Lymington to Yarmouth route were suspended, but had recommenced by around 8.30am, although were delayed by up to 45 minutes.
  Wightlink’s Portsmouth to Fishbourne car ferry and the Ryde to Portsmouth catamarans are subject to disruption until further notice.
  Red Funnel is operating a two-boat Red Jet shuttle service as there are extended crossing times due to reduced visibility, with delays of 15 to 20 minutes.
  Hovertravel’s Ryde to Southsea crossings are taking longer due to the conditions.
  Southern Vectis said there were delays on various routes. Traffic is moving very slowly between Wootton and Newport and there are delays between Cowes and Newport.
