Paul Burnell's four goal performance ensured Hampton's Under 18s came out on top against Cobham. Hampton were twice ahead before falling behind 3-2 and then recovered to eventually win 4-3.

Burnell scored Hampton's opener in the seventh minute when his pace took him past the ponderous Cobham defence and he ran on to crack the ball past the Cobham keeper. An unfortunate deflection in the Hampton defence was seized upon by Cobham as they scored a lucky equaliser in the 19th minute.

Hampton went 2-1 up in the 52nd minute when Burnell headed Ben Lampard's free kick in at the far post. Cobham pulled level in the 64th minute from a penalty then went ahead when they took advantage of a poor Hampton goalkick. Another header by Burnell, this time from a cross from Ray Collins, put Hampton level at 3-3. With nine minutes to go Hampton were reduced to 10 men when Alex Graves was injured. In the 84th minute Burnell hit his fourth with a penalty.
